The 7th annual Maupintown Film Festival at the historic Jefferson School African American Heritage Center takes place virtually July 10 -12, 2020 with the theme QUEEN.  Join Charlottesville’s only destination dedicated to showcasing stories about and by people of African descent, as we reminisce about, reflect on and reconnect with African American history and culture from the past, present and future, all through film.

Due to COVID-19, this year's event will be 100% virtual.  The health and safety of our film-lovers is of number one importance.  And during these times, our commitment to sharing these important stories remains unwavered.

With 2020 being the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, the festival will focus on sharing stories by and/or about African American women.

Purchase tickets to this year's festival today.  Watch starting opening day, July 10th.
